The Applied Cybersecurity Essentials - Advanced Defender series challenges your defensive cyber and information security skill in hands-on, real-world cyberattacks. You will defend the Purdue Cyber Range against various cyber attacks. This series provides practical experience on topics such as incident identification and response and advanced network hardening in team-based and individual settings.

A.C.E. - Advanced Defender is designed for professionals working in cyber and information security looking to challenge their skills. We recommend you complete the A.C.E. - Defender series or have three to five years of experience in cybersecurity to take this series.

Training

You can go through A.C.E. - Advanced Defender in a couple of ways: online or in-person. The series is divided into three courses, each with a selection of scenarios for the range. All courses are 16 credit hours, and you will earn a badge upon passing. 

Available Courses

AD-401: Test your defensive cyber skills against three cyber attacks as a solo responder. 

AD-402: Focus on advanced team-based defensive cyber techniques such as log management, scripting, SIEMs, and more.  

AD-403: Continue to reinforce techniques in AD-403 against more complex cyberattacks.

Tech Requirements

It is recommended that all of cyberTAP courses be taken on a laptop or PC that runs either Windows of Linux as an operating system. We also recommended to have a fast and reliable internet access.
