Scott Richards

Sr. Information Security Analyst


Scott Richards serves as an Information Security Analyst for Purdue’s Technical Assistance Program.  Scott is on the cyberTAP team where he uses his gift of being able to easily explain technology to non-technical people. In this role, Scott conducts a variety of information, cybersecurity, and compliance related projects for small to medium-sized businesses. Scott is certified on all major computers (i.e. Apple, HP, Acer, Asus, Dell, etc.) and also holds A+, CCNP, MCDST, and MCSA certifications. Although he can program in Java, C, C++, and Visual Basic, he specializes in mobile technologies. He believes that, since he started his career in computer technology in 1986, he has “tested every computer tablet and handheld device going back to the Apple Newton.” Scott has helped develop applications for Palm, Microsoft, and Apple handheld devices; written numerous reviews on them; and presented about the devices at more than 50 seminars.
