Yansi Keim

Graduate Research Assistant


Yansi Keim is a Ph.D. Candidate (ABD) under Dr. Marcus Rogers, who is researching the amalgamation of cybersecurity competitions and undergraduate curriculum at Purdue University. Originally from India, she chose to pursue her Doctorate journey in the States after establishing a publishable research career while completing a master’s and bachelor’s degree. Currently, Yansi has been working as a Graduate Research Assistant for cyberTAP (2019, 2023-current).

After graduation, Yansi will be joining the industry as a cybersecurity researcher in Blue Team. Throughout her time at Purdue, Yansi led multiple leadership positions. Most notable being President of the Women in Cybersecurity Purdue Chapter, which won Purdue the Best Chapter Award under her leadership at the WiCyS 2021 annual conference. She is an avid CTF player and is ranked among the top 2% at TryHackMe.

During her academic journey, Yansi, in parallel, earned CeH certification and 8+ publications spanning posters and research papers. Recently, she concluded her position as a Research Assistant in an NIJ Grant titled AI Enabled Community Supervision for Criminal Justice Services. Yansi is proud of her work for the Department of Energy’s Green Team and Target Corporation’s Cyber Defense Challenge. During the summer of 2023, Yansi interned at Allison Transmission, where she contributed to their Threat Hunting program. She is planning her graduation at the end of next school year, thus open for any open cybersecurity research roles.

In her free time, Yansi likes to take casual strolls around campus, collect Funko Pops, and watch One Piece.
